1863 Milbridge-built vessel William B. Nash is captured by Confederate raiders.

First publication of the newspaper the National Investigator, the Greenback Party’s paper, in Kennebunk published by Investigator Publishing Company.
1981
The two masted vessel Vernon Langille struck the Carleton Bridge in Bath when a strong current and dying wind pulled the vessel off course. It was refloated.
