CSurplus is a small, triangular township in Western Maine’s Oxford County. It is West of the trio of Township C, Township D and Township E. It is just East of the town of Upton. No improved roads link the two.

The Appalachian Trail closely bypasses the Township in its extremely easterly area.

C Pond sits in its center, located south of C Bluff Mountain. A small inlet enters the east side of the pond and its outlet, the Dead Cambridge River, flows west into Umbagog Lake. The pond’s shoreline is mostly undeveloped. Water quality in C Pond is marginal for coldwater gamefish. Nonetheless, there is a population of native brook trout present. Good spawning and nursery habitat in the inlet and outlet allows the trout to maintain sufficient numbers for a fishery. Growth is good despite competition from of other fish species. The pond is not stocked.

C Pond is accessible via a gated logging roads off Route 16. The pond is open to fishing with artificial lures only in the summer and closed to fishing in the winter months.
