This township is southwest of Baxter State Park and Southeast of Chesuncook and Caribou Lakes. The Sias Hill Road from T2 R13 WELS passes the foot of Caribou Lake, where it joins the Golden Road. At the junction the road trends northeast to the West Branch of the Penobscot River and Baxter State Park; and northeast to the Caribou Check Point and the North Maine Woods.
Seven modest ponds dot the landscape, including the following: Kelly Pond (64 acres, 35 feet deep) is a short distance to the east of the southern tip of Caribou Lake. Logging operations have improved access to the area. Grassy Pond is a 54 acre, 8 feet deep, shallow trout pond that has become more accessible as a result of timber harvesting. Big Fisher Pond (56 acres, 10 feet deep) is accessed by a 1 1/2-mile gravel road that leads to the shore of the Pond from the Great Northern Paper Company road between Grant Farm and Ripogenus Dam.
