The township [also known as T7 R11 NWP] is home to First and Second Little Lyford Ponds, an Appalachian Mountain Club lodge on the site of an historic logging camp, and an extensive section of the Appalachian Trail.
The ponds and lodge are east of Greenville following the East Road, then the K1 Road east, passing through the Hedgehog Checkpoint in Bowdoin College Grant West TWP. Or one may take the Katahdin Iron Works Road west from Brownville.
A trail connects the two ponds, providing a pleasant, easy experience on a sunny day and a fine sunset – canoes available.
