1884 The Henry Hyde was launched in Bath, the largest ship built in Maine to that date. It broke apart on Virginia Beach in October of 1904.
1923
Ku Klux Klan receives a permit to build a Klavern, or assembly hall, at 39 North Street in Bangor. It was completed the following February.
1963 Amendment to the Maine Constitution passes forbidding discrimination regarding deprivation of life, liberty or property without due process, nor be denied equal protection of the laws, nor be denied enjoyment of civil rights.
2020 Maine CDC reports  7,260 total cases confirmed or probable for COVID-19 (Coronavirus); 150 deaths to date; 5,751 have recovered. Each of the 16 counties have at least 11 confirmed cases.
