Mud Brook, with origins in Stacyville, flows south into Herseytown Township and then to Soldiertown Township in Penobscot County where it joins the Penobscot River East Branch.

In April 2014 the brook was still at spring flood stage, making access from Route 11 an opportunity for a short trip.  Scout Brady Williams identified the spot in Herseytown Township for the put-in. (N45° 46′ 46.72″ W68° 33′ 33.90″)

The same put-in spot in August 2014 looked radically different compared to the first few frames in the video below!

In less than half an hour we hauled out at Hay Brook Village on Route 11 in Soldiertown Township.  (N45° 46′ 4.14″ W68° 34′ 21.88″) Rebecca Williams gets the credit for the beaver video footage on the East Branch.
