1783 Birth date of Cornelius Holland, delegate to the Maine constitutional convention in 1819, member of the Maine House and Senate, and a Jacksonian member of the U.S. Congress
1861 Searsport built vessels Mary E. Thompson and Mary Goodell, and Machias-built Mary Alice are captured by Confederate raiders.
1864 Brunswick-built vessel Greenland is captured by Confederate raiders.
