While it contains several small brooks and streams, the township has no ponds, lakes, or mountains within its relatively flat land area. Who was “Fletcher”? It’s a mystery!

  1. My great-grandfather Earnest Fletcher grew up in Fletcher’s Landing, and his family was known to have settled the township! A Fletcher family member living in Fletcher’s Landing also poached a moose that is now on display in the Maine State House in Augusta.
